sam hurwitz
Sam Hurwitz is a twenty year old singer-songwriter based in New York who has been creating and releasing a unique blend of folk, rock, and alternative music for over ten years. Sam views himself as a storyteller foremost—all of his music comes straight from the heart and is meticulously crafted into song. He draws on years of technical training (including guitar, piano, vocals, composition, and music theory), 20+ live performances, participation in several bands, film scoring, and an in-home studio production system to make every one of his projects stand out.
At two years old Sam was strumming a guitar and singing nonsense lyrics. By nine, Sam had written fully-fledged original songs which he performed at venues in Westchester, New York, such as the Towne Crier and Purpl. By middle school, he had performed at the Bitter End in NYC, at the halftime show of a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, and at a gala at the NYU Skirball Center. At the same time he began releasing music on YouTube, producing music videos that amassed over 10,000 views. In high school, Sam created an in-home studio system, where he has recorded over thirty songs. He released two singles in 2019 and 2020, respectively, and released his first album, "I Drowned & I Woke Up", in 2021. He released his second album, "The Optimist," in 2023. While studying abroad in Copenhagen, Sam continued his career by playing two featured sets of original music at Blagard's Apotek and LiteraturHaus, respectively.
